Stretch marks caused by topical steroids can occur in any area where the steroid is applied. These stretch marks can be fairly severe looking or can resemble any other type of stretch mark. They are caused by an overuse of the cream or a prolonged use of the cream. In fact, other types of steroids, including oral steroids, may also cause stretch marks without even contacting the skin.
