Once you have cellulite,
removing it can be frustrating and confusing. Cellulite can be
eliminated gradually by detoxifying the body and speeding up the
metabolism.
A healthy metabolism will enhance the reduction of cellulite. The liver
must function efficiently for detoxification and burning calories. There
are a number of things you can do to reduce cellulite and keep more
cellulite from accumulating. These include:
- Maintaining a normal weight,
reducing your weight gradually if you are overweight.
- Not smoking.
- Avoiding unnecessary
medication such as diet pills, sleeping pills, stimulants,
laxatives, and diuretics.
- Reducing your intake of
coffee, alcohol, and processed foods high in saturated and
hydrogenated fats.
- Protecting the liver by
avoiding pesticides, additives, artificial sweeteners, and
colorings.
- Eating plenty of fiber and 3
to 5 healthy meals a day. While you don’t want to overeat, don't
skip regular meals, as they are important in keeping the metabolism
up at a healthy rate.
- Drinking plenty of water and
eating fresh fruit every day.
- Being physically active with
regular vigorous exercise.
Cellulite Removal
There are a number of major ways of removing cellulite and preventing
its accumulation. No one component will work alone; each method must be
used along with other methods.
Strengthening the Blood Vessels and Increasing Circulation
The first stage of cellulite is invisible to the naked eye and involves
the breakdown of the blood vessels in the area. The first step to smooth
skin is to use substances that promote strong blood vessels. This can be
achieved externally with topical cellulite reduction creams and skin
brushing. Internally, you’ll want to consume nutrients that specifically
promote strong blood vessels and eliminate foods that contribute to the
formation of cellulite.
Encouraging the Production of Connective Tissue
Another method to treat cellulite consists of stimulating the production
of the matrix (GAGs) that compose connective tissue in the body. You’ll
want to supply your body with plenty of those essential nutrients that
create and restore this matrix in order to provide the body with the
ability to form firm connective tissue.
Staying Well Hydrated
Drinking plenty of water is essential. You want to make sure that all of
your cells are fully hydrated. They must be hydrated in order to be
strong and firm enough to push the cellulite-forming fat cells back
below the visible layers of your skin, where they belong.
With the optimal amount of water, the body’s cells are able to repair
themselves and function at peak levels. Your body's cells must also be
supplied with the materials they need to build and reinforce their
walls. This will make the skin strong and youthful. Well hydrated, the
cells are better able to absorb nutrients. It's important to remember
that each method of treating cellulite removal has specific benefits
that help reduce dimpling, and each method increases the effectiveness
of all the other methods.
Reducing Swelling
Wasted water, or edema, manifests as bloating, weight gain, and puffy
eyes. When excess fluid seeps in between the cells and connective
tissue, it interferes with the body's ability to repair cellulite
damage. The cells cannot function properly together as a unit. Water
retention provides gaps that fat cells can move through.
Preventing Damage from Free Radicals
Damage from free radicals occurs from sun exposure, pollution, smoking,
and a poor diet. These factors make skin tissue more susceptible to
forming cellulite and stretch marks than skin that is protected. Since
today it is nearly impossible to completely escape the effects of
pollution, it’s smart to use topical and internal antioxidants.
Reducing Inflammation
Prolonged inflammation, such as overexposure to the sun, can cause
damage to the cell walls. A variety of products with soothing
ingredients can be used both topically and internally to calm
inflammation before it damages the skin.
Promoting Exfoliation
As we age, the rate of cell production decreases, leaving a layer of
dead skin cells on the surface. If left on the skin, these dead skin
cells make the skin look dull and the production of new cells further
decreases. The skin no longer protects us against the elements and water
loss. The way to promote the production of new cells is exfoliation of
the skin. Removing the dead skin cells tells the body to create
replacements. Younger cells are better equipped to deal with the
onslaught of cellulite, and they use topical treatments applied to the
area more efficiently.
Studies reveal that taking both internal and external preventive
measures are best for removing cellulite and decreasing your chances of
accumulating it in the future.
